A partnership shaped by friendship, musical training and the stage.
The duo formed by guitarists Nando Chagas and Roberto Rosemberg reflects the chemistry born from common musical influences and training, as well as a friendship that goes back to their teenage years.
They both attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston in the 1980s, an important milestone in their careers. After returning to Brazil, each followed an individual path until 2003, when they began investing more seriously in the duo format.
Beyond their work as instrumentalists, both are composers. Their original music can be heard on their independent solo albums Arpoador, by Nando Chagas, and Circular, by Roberto Rosemberg.
The Duo has performed at venues and projects including JazzClub Terra da Luz, Jazz Village, Pátio Havana, Esch Café, Conversa Afinada, Espaço Cultural Maurice Valansi and Nanquim Instrumental — IAB. As part of the Música no Museu series, they performed at Museu da Chácara do Céu, Centro Cultural da Light and Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim. In July 2006, the Duo took part in Festival Vale do Café.
With an essentially acoustic sound and strong improvisational freedom, the Duo revisits works such as They Can't Take That Away from Me, The Look of Love, Spain, Nuages, Made in France, D Natural Blues, Jacksoul Brasileiro, Noites Cariocas and Samambaia, along with other jazz and Brazilian standards, original compositions and unreleased material.
